The Origin Of Billy's And Billy Jr's Names

Have you ever heard of Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, the NFL football player? Well, back in the days when I was at Washington State University, he played on the WSU football team. He was always the only guy on the field wearing white shoes - that was his trademark even back then (maybe it even goes back to his high school days?). Anyway, that is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the cat's white feet, so, naturally, I named her Billy (at the time, I didn't know her gender).

Billy Junior looks just like Billy - that is where she got her name. In addition to wearing four white shoes, Billy Junior also wears one white sock (left rear). Like Billy, Billy Junior is also a female. I considered changing the spelling of their names to "Billie", but didn't.

*** UPDATE *** A Billy White Shoes Johnson fan sent me an email informing me that he was not at Washington State University. So, I guess that was some other nutty guy wearing white shoes at WSU!
